A Brief History

October 7, 2006-June 15, 2007

Prince Emmanuel All Nations Seventh-day Adventist Church was born out of a deep hunger to study and understand the word of God.  A small group of Seventh-day Adventist believers met in one of the homes on October 7, 2006 to discuss how to engage in further studies of the word of God.  From this meeting the first Bible study was planned and held on October 21, 2006.  The group which consisted originally of six families, continued to meet for Bible Studies every Sabbath evening.  At the end of December 2006, the thought of establishing an all nations’ fellowship, where everyone feels like somebody, and where God’s word will be understood by all members, was born.

It was agreed that this new body be named Prince Emmanuel All Nations Seventh-day Adventist church.   Members commissioned themselves to fast and pray earnestly for God’s guidance and direction.  On January 8, after much prayer, fasting and many discussions, Prince Emmanuel All Nations Seventh-day Adventist church was incorporated.

The first church service was held on January 13, 2007 at Fairland Recreation Center in Burtonsville, Maryland.  We then moved to Bowie State University in April 2007, and worshipped there through May, 2007.  We had to find another venue, since we could not collect offerings openly at Bowie State University.  We were able to rent Burtonsville Elementary school from June 2007 through June 2009.  At Pastor Jallah’s suggestion, we began to look for a place central to the membership.  With prayers we were led to Abundant Life Community Church (Now New Dimensions Church), in Laham, Maryland where we were received with open arms, and treated like royalty.  We worshipped there from June 6, 2009 through June 8, 2013.

After worshipping at Abundant Life for a while, we began to look for a permanent place of worship.  Through much searching, deliberations and prayer, our journey led us to  this place, 2701 Enterprise Road in Bowie, where we now call Home .

During this journey, we have come across many wonderful people who have given us their support.  While struggling to find our feet, we received a lot of support from Berean Seventh-day Adventist church and others too many to list individually.   The church members have been incredible.

No journey is without challenges, and we have had our share, but through it all, the membership has remained strong under the leadership of Pastor Jallah and the church elders.  Above, the Lord has truly being marvelous to us.

As we continue on this journey, we pray that the Lord would help us to keep our focus on Him and the work He has called us to do.

Thank you for your support.

Foundational Text

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NIV)

Affirmation of Faith

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11
